First report of Chromelosporium fulvum from Iran
Authors
Abstract:
During spring 2011, some fungal isolates were recovered from sterilized soil (Fig. 1, A) or vermiculite, in pots and flats in greenhouses in Shiraz University, using malt extract agar and potato dextrose agar (Fig. 1, B). Anamorphic characteristics such as conidiophores and conidia were investigated. Conidiophores 125–1350 × 7.5–15 µm, hyaline, erect, broad, septate, branched once, twice (Fig. 1, F) or multi (Fig. 1, C–E) at the apex, bearing spore masses, at sterigmata on the fertile portions of branches. Conidia 4.4–7.2 µm, blastosporous, pale yellowish brown, globose, smooth, one celled (Fig. 1, G). Based on the above criteria, the fungus was identified as Chromelosporium fulvum (Link) McGinty, Korf & Hennebert. (Pezizales, Pezizaceae) which is a new report for Iran.

During 2015–16, the presence of micromycetes species in aquatic ecosystems was studied in Iran. Samples were collected from rivers, lakes and wetlands. For isolation, agar disks were transferred to plates containing water samples. The plates were incubated at 25–27° C for 21 days in 12 h light/12 h dark condition. Then from the mycelium grown on the agar disks, pure cultures were obtained. Fin...

During 2008, the presence of Paecilomyces species was studied in fields in Fars province. Soil samples were collected from 0–20 cm depth. The isolates were recovered using a soil dilution plate method directly from soil. Isolation was performed from soil using malt extract agar, rice agar, oat-meal agar and potato dextrose agar. Anamorphic characteristics such as morphology of conidiophores, ph...
